For the convenience of our wild game customers, Schrupp’s Meats only processes wild game in November; this means your deer isn’t waiting behind other meat orders (beef, pork, etc.):

  • 1st Saturday in November: 9 AM – 8 PM
  • 1st Sunday in November: 2 PM – 8 PM
  • 2nd Saturday in November: 9 AM – 8 PM
  • 2nd Sunday in November: 2 AM – 8 PM

Placing Your Wild Game Order

When placing your wild game processing order with Schrupp’s please be specific.

  • Cuts available – steaks, roasts and chops
  • Grinding for hamburger is charged separately (call for price per pound)
  • Any head desired for mounting should be picked up promptly

The Basics When it Comes to Wild Game Processing at Schrupp’s Meats

WHOLE CARCASS: All wild game must be tagged and registered prior to processing at Schrupp’s. We reserve the right to refuse any deer that is not properly taken care of. All whole carcass deer are preferred with hides on them. Dirty wild game carcasses will have an additional clean-up charge.

TRIMMINGS: Trimmings must be clean, free of hair and blood clots, and must have license numbers.

FRESH CUTS: You will be called on your fresh cuts. Come in as soon as possible. We cut each deer one at a time, ensuring that your cuts will come back to you.

*SAUSAGE: We do all of our venison sausages as separate batches - a minimum of 10-15 lbs. is needed per batch except for venison bacon, which is a minimum of 4 lbs.

Sausage is made on a first come first serve basis. Please wait for our phone call for finished sausage and allow one to four months. We will call you when your order is ready and it is best if we have both your home and work numbers.

*We charge you for the finished weight of product on sausage. However, jerky, snack sticks and dried product are charged by raw weight.

Order Pick Up

We have limited storage space available; therefore all orders need to be picked up within one week of notification. A weekly storage fee will be charged unless other arrangements are made in advance.

Wild Game Processing Charges

The various processing charges for deer, elk, and other wild game include:

  • Deposit on trimmings (per pound)
  • Deposit for each deer (flat fee)
  • Cutting off horns (flat fee)
  • Skinning and bone disposal (flat fee)
  • Cape mount (flat fee)
  • Processing (per pound – hanging weight)
  • Grinding (per pound)
  • Grinding trim brought in (per pound)
  • Outside smoking (flat fee per smoke house batch)
